No analytics, no tracking, no third-party cookies
This site runs no web analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no social media plugins and no embedded third-party media. We set no cookies for analysis or marketing. Only technically necessary storage is used, and no consent banner is therefore required. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts a Google server and transmits your IP address for that request; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent presentation of the site under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Server log files
When you open a page, our hosting provider automatically records: the requested address, the date and time, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, the browser type and version, the operating system and a shortened IP address. This data is required to deliver the site and to keep it secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log data is deleted after 7 days unless a specific security incident requires longer retention.
Contact form and email
If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process the details you provide in order to answer you. Where your message concerns a pre-contractual or contractual matter, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; in all other cases it is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We keep such correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with the matter and to meet statutory retention periods, and we delete it afterwards. Contact form entries are never passed to hotels or to any other third party.
Newsletter
The newsletter is sent only to addresses that have been confirmed through a double opt-in procedure. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may withdraw that consent at any time, with effect for the future, by using the unsubscribe link in any issue or by writing to the address above; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Your address is deleted once you unsubscribe.
Hosting and processors
The site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The provider processes the data described above on our behalf under a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Where a processor is located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

SSL and TLS encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for all connections. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the https prefix in the address bar of your browser. While encryption is active, the data you transmit cannot be read by third parties.
